Early this January I was asked the question by my son in law; “ What are you asking God for in 2018”? My answer was immediate, I had been asking God show me the supernatural this year! Without hesitation Kevin gave me a book “Positioned for Miracles” by Jerry Scott a missionary in the south pacific and loaned me the book “ The Spirit of the Lord is upon us” by Dr. Leslie Keegel, president of Four Square in Sri Lanka and a friend of Jessicas. Both books not only recount countless testimonies but also the means of preparing for God to break through the natural in our lives. Then I began the year taking my daily walks with my grandson in his stoller and listening to Jerry Dirmann teach on his January podcasts. Of course he was teaching on Setting the stage for the Miraculous!  When we decided to rent a movie we rented “Christ in You, a new film on Netflix. Bill Johnson, Heidi Baker, Todd White and others she with countless testimonies of God doing the miraculous through ordinary people like you and I.

When we ask, Papa God answers!

That is all a backdrop to what God inspired me to share with you today. When I asked Him what to title the teaching He said Preparing for the Supernatural through our Words, Eyes, Ears and Heart. I think He plans to teach us for a few weeks!

Lets take a brief look at our Words. Over the last few years we have studied together how powerful our words are. Our words create a platform or an environment which enables God to move supernaturally in a greater way in our lives.

Genesis 1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was[a] on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good;

The earth was without form. It was disorganized, there was a void, an emptiness and there was darkness. Sound familiar? We often find the same thing at times in our lives. So what did God do? He spoke and SAID, let there be light and there was and then He continued to speak our world and man into existence.

God was setting the stage for the supernatural and we can do the same in our lives. We are created in His image. Preparing with the words we speak in faith for the supernatural to invade and disrupt the natural. I hear a lot about disruptive technology in my recruiting business in high tech.

A disruptive technology is one that displaces an established technology and shakes up the industry or a ground-breaking product that creates a completely new industry.  It sets up tech to go into a brand new direction. It is the same with our words, we are able to displace old beliefs and break the ground to provide for a completely new way of thinking and believing, paving the way for God to move in our lives in the miraculous.

Our own words can be the source of our limitation. When God saw the darkness he did not say, “man it is dark” ….

It is so easy to talk about the problem rather than the solution. God only spoke the solution. His words were spoken with a force that brought forth life!

I am reminded in:

Job 6:25

How forceful are right words!

We have to address the darkness with our words. They carry power because we are created in His image. This last month was a test of faith for me concerning a past due invoice from a client. The amount was significant and they were really late and on top of that not communicating with me. Given they are in China it was making me more than a bit uneasy. As I contemplated my legal and business options the Lord spoke to me and told me to speak release of the funds. It seems the delay had a spiritual component. So I began to do just that. I kindly wrote to them as He instructed and began to speak release of the funds rightly owed to me and then praised God for the payment. Two days later I heard from them with an apology and a promise of a wire for half the invoice and a promise for the other half this week. 50% is now in my account. Praise God! I am speaking the other half to show up and praising Him for it! Please know this required revelation! My first tendency was to just look at the void, imagine the worse and try to figure out what to do. I needed God to remind me of the power of my thinking and my words.

I am reminded that although we face trouble our words bring us out the other side:

Proverbs 12:13 (NKJV)

13

The wicked is ensnared by the transgression of his lips,

But the righteous will come through trouble.

Proverbs 12:14 (NKJV)

14

A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth,

How we speak is so important.

We have to get our words in alignment with God and if necessary speak to the darkness we may face.

Address things in your life that are not organized or where there is an emptiness or void or where there may be un-confronted darkness. Get your words in alignment with His and the fruitfulness and multiplication will began to happen at a supernatural level.

We forget who we are and the dominion God gave which is most often expressed through our words. They are not empty the are backed up by almighty God. We are there to solve the problem not be overwhelmed by it.  God is showing me that guarding my mouth and aligning my words with His words will bring supernatural solutions to natural problems.

There is so much more to share about preparing our eyes, our ears and our hearts to see more of the miraculous in our lives. These next few weeks we will explore this together. However this week as the Lord if there is an area that you need to set the stage for Him to work through the words of your mouth, speak to the darkness or the lack and watch what He will do!

Blessings! Irene
